Highly effective sphagnum peat moss absorbent from Russia which is intended for oil spill response on a water surface and the soil.
The peat moss absorbent NORD is produced from ecologically clean raw materials – poorly decomposed (up to15%) of sphagnum peat moss free from radiological and toxicological contamination.
The natural sphagnum peat moss sorbent is 4 times more effective than a synthetic sorbent!
Peat moss absorbent absorbs and hold crude oil, oil products, various combustible liquids and oils. After saturation, the absorbent is collected and utilized by burning as a high calorie secondary fuel.
According to the developed production technology, the peat sorbent NORD is subjected to special heat treatment to a humidity of 18-24%, then crushed to a fraction of 0.5-9mm. Oil absorption is 5-10g of oil per 1g of sorbent, the time of oil saturation to the limit value of 5-10min, the period of oil preservation in the sorbent volume excluding its spontaneous flow is not limited, buoyancy is not less than 72 hours, selectivity to oil in the oil-water system is 90-95%.
Packing: polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner, volume of pack 80 liters, weight of pack 10-12 kg.
The peat moss sorbent NORD is transported on pallets. On 1 pallet 45 packages weighing 570 kg are placed. Delivery is carried out by sea containers and trucks.
The peat moss sorbent NORD has approvals of the Russian River Register and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
